Government reform is about restructuring departments to build services for all Australians, rather than expanding government overreach and overspending. This approach empowers people to work in newly created departments that generate revenue instead of increasing expenses. Restructured development will focus on boosting exports rather than imports. For too long, overseas multinationals have exploited our natural resources and reaped profits without providing benefits for Australians.
Slash Government Waste
One Nation is committed to cutting wasteful government spending and delivering substantial budget savings of up to $90 billion per year. These savings will come from targeted reforms, streamlined operations, and the removal of inefficiencies so taxpayer funds can be redirected to areas of genuine need.
Key Reform Areas
Eliminating Wasteful Departments and Agencies
-
Abolish the Department of Climate Change and associated agencies, programs, and regulations, generating an estimated $30 billion in annual savings.
-
Abolish the National Indigenous Australians Agency (NIAA) and replace the broader “Aboriginal industry” with direct grant assistance to individuals in need, saving up to $12.5 billion per year.
- Australia does not need two Education Departments, two Environment departments and so on. Not only is this a burden on the taxpayer, it creates unnecessary and ambiguous regulation that severely impacts productivity.
- Reduce $340 billion for 165,000 retired bureaucrats. This means that on average each retired bureaucrat will receive over $2 million each in retirement, reduce this figure to 1.4 million effectively saving 110 billions of future funds
- Reduce government Spending and spending from 785 billion to 685 billion through streamlining government department modeling
- Tax reform and
Streamlining Federal Functions
-
Conduct a full review of the Federal Departments of Education and Housing to remove duplication with state responsibilities.
-
Remove costly and unnecessary building code mandates, including requirements that all new dwellings be wheelchair‑compliant regardless of need.
- International travel for bureaucrats other than diplomats will be banned without approval from Parliament.

- Reduce Duplication Between State and Federal Agencies

Return the NDIS to its original purpose of providing reasonable and necessary support.
-
Introduce means‑testing and adjust specialist and non‑specialist pay rates to sustainable levels.
-
Deliver long‑term savings through fair, balanced, and equitable reforms.
- Reduce subsidies for renewables and seek to eliminate wasteful government spending.
- Over four years, this could save $15–20 billion per year compared with the current system—without taking essential support away from anyone with a real disability.
